ATLANTA COLT YOUTH ASSOCIATION

• All players considering travel football MUST attend travel tryouts May 18th and 19th. We will potentially offer another two days of tryouts, dependent on the number of players and availability.
• The ACYA Board of Directors reserves the right to require that certain players move between leagues for safety purposes. Such players will be given the option of a full refund if they then choose not to participate.
• 8 -11-year-old travel teams practice three days per week for two hours each day and have games on Saturdays.
• Games are primarily played on Saturday at Murphy Candler or other Metro Atlanta parks, mainly around East and Northeast Georgia area.
• ACYA supplies a game jersey, game pants without pads, shoulder pads, and a helmet. 
• Team dues average $100-$150 per player.

TRAVEL EVALUATION DATES - 2025

• - 3 day tryouts for players ages 8 - 11 years old
• - 5/18- DAY ONE (HELMET ONLY) 9 - 11am
• - Each player needs to check in & confirm registration
• - Record weight of each player.
• - Perform shuttle run, broad jumps, 30/40 yard sprints, corner box drill, 3 cone pro drill.
• - Separate larger kids & skilled kids into groups.
• - Bring cleats, water, mouthguard and helmet (attend fitting prior to this date)
• -5/19 - DAY TWO (HELMET ONLY) 9 - 11am
• - 3 point stance, dummies work (high knees, front & side)
• - Block drill, tackling dummies, skill drills for RB-WR-QB
• - Lots of conditioning
• - Bring cleats, water, mouthguard and helmet (attend fitting prior to this date)
• - 5/20 - DAY THREE (FULL PADS) 9 - 11am
• - Heads Up Tackle Training and Refresher
• - Basics to include tackle & Sumo training drills
• - Blocking, tackling and other contact drills
• - More conditioning
• - Come prepared wearing full pads (shoulder pads, football pants, cleats, helmet, mouthguard, practice jersey)

• Registration Fees for Tackle Football are $450, including rental of helmet/shoulder pads, medics, and video fees.
• Payment Plans are now available, with three payments of $150 due in May, June & July.
• Registration is open starting March 1st,
• Registration closes August 7th for Intraleague.
•  No discount from May 1st through July 26th.
• A late fee of $50 will be applied to registrations after July 1st.
• A cancelation fee of $50 after June 15th; no refunds after July 22nd.

• July 10th - 5:00 -7:00

• 6TH/7TH TACKLE: 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm (Check-in begins at 5:30)
• Helmet Only: August 6th & 7th - 6:00- 8:00
• Full Pads: August 11th & 12th - 6:00- 8:00
• Rainout Date: August 8th and 13th - 6:00- 8:00

• Registration fees for Flag Cheerleading are $200.
• If needed, there is a $50 uniform fee.
• A late fee of $50 will apply after July 1st.
• Registration closes July 31st.
• All cheerleaders who need a uniform must attend a uniform fitting.
• A cancelation fee of $50 after June 15th; no refunds after July 22nd.

• Registration fees for IL Cheerleading are $280.
• If needed, there is a $60 uniform fee.
• Early registration discount of $50 until May 1st.
• A late fee of $50 will apply after July 1st.

• Clinic to learn tryout cheers - April 21st & April 23rd from 6 - 8 pm at Colt Field
• Mandatory Parent Meeting Sunday, April 27th, Colt Field.
• Mandatory Try Out - April 27th from 1 - 3 pm at Colt Field
• You must be registered to try out!
• Tryouts will consist of learning a cheer and a dance to be performed on Sunday
